I approve of a mission to Mars. I don’t know a lot about the specifics of the current planned missions and I certainly wouldn’t want to go without a return ticket! But I think humans should be spreading themselves out exploring the galaxy. Who knows what we will learn and we have a long way to travel if we want to survive as a species when the sun explodes!

I assume you’re talking about a crewed mission to Mars? I think it’s a great idea but I also want it to be ethical. No one-way missions where people die very slowly of starvation and/or suffocation, please. I think the best idea currently is the one where the spacecraft does an orbital reconnaissance mission and comes back to Earth.

Going to Mars is a really good way to start looking for life outside our own planet because the conditions on Mars could have supported life millions of years ago. It’d be amazing to find evidence of life.
