• Question: What do you get out of engineering that you couldn’t get from any other kind of job?

      Using knowledge and experimentation to create technology to be used by people

      I haven’t had every other kind of job, but I have had jobs in office admin, tutoring and at uni I worked as a nightclub bouncer. I think what I get out of engineering is everything I could want: it’s fun, it’s always interesting, and (what the other jobs lacked) it’s well paid.

      The ability to work on the cutting edge of technology all the time, to work on things that won’t be part of consumer technology like phones for years to come because it’s too advanced.
