Question: Did you like school?

Mostly I did. Some days were better than others though! I like to learn things and school was a place to do that. Although I did not like getting up early in the morning and some days I would have preferred to be at home. It has been a long time now since I have been at school, over a decade! Looking back I see how I was quite stressed by exams etc… which are important but by far not the most important thing in life. Some subjects I was not very keen on at the time like drama and french I am now interested in. Though I always loved physics and mathematics and that hasn’t changed. How do you like school?

Mostly yes. There were days or classes I liked less than others and I had the usual issues that detract from enjoying school… but I enjoyed it. I looked forward to the classes that interested me the most and also to going home or to canoeing after school.

Yes. I work at a university and have done for most of my adult life. Apart from a couple of brief stints working in industry, I pretty much never left.

I really enjoyed school and this was mostly because of friends and fun subjects like art, media and PE. I especially enjoyed sports and was part of the school rounders team throughout high school.

Yes, mostly. Although I didn’t always get top marks I really enjoyed most subjects. It’s interesting looking back now and seeing which parts of the subjects were important. I think I could have given myself “permission” to commit certain things to memory – then you can work out the rest from what you know! I always loved playing in the school band.
